GN brand decanter centrifuge is a separation equipments used in the drilling mud recycling system. In this period of time, we have sent many sets of this type centrifuge to USA, Latin America and other area of the wrold.
Decanter centrifuge always used in the large system like the mud recycling system matching the drilling rig for oil & gas, geothermal etc. It is used as the 4th stage equipment to treat the drilling mud feeded by a submersible pump from the desilter tank compartment. Under normal condition, the centrifuge could separate the solids particals with the size of 7 microns. If a high speed variable frequency centrifuge is taken into application, even partical with size 2 microns could be removed out.

In the complete 4 stage treatment process, from shale shaker to mud cleaner (a combination of desander and desilter), then to decanter centrifuge, the solid particals separated from the mud is more and more smaller. So, customer often learn our centrifuge according to the partical size. It is a fact that the decanter centrifuge have a good performance in separating the tiny particals, but when it is working, the most important factor is the density of the particals and medium, rather than the partical size. And the density difference should be relative bigger. Once a customer who want to use this type centrifuge to separate microbes with size from 2 microns to 20 microns cultivated in water. 1 If we provide part number and descriptions for popular brand equipments, if GN can make replacement one? For example, Mission Pump spare parts, Derrick hydrocyclone ( 4” cone and 10”cone), spring, rubber and shaker screen of Derrick Flo-Line shaker, Swaco Mongoose PT shaker spare parts, Brandt Cobra shaker spare parts, etc.
GN only produce our own brand equipments, so we can only provide spare parts for GN equipments, they can not replace for other brand equipment, even though they looked similar, they still have difference in structure.
2 If GN can produce similar shale shaker with other brand?
For example, Swaco Mongoose PT shaker, which has 2 kinds of vibrating motion , linear and balanced elliptical motion.
Can not at present, we have BEM shaker or Linear motion shaker, but can not combine them together in one machine. Maybe in the future, we will research new one to replace it.
For example, Dual deck shale shaker , which is combination of scalper(top deck) and bottom deck( fine screen), the benefit of 2 deck shale shaker is to increase the service life of bottom deck shaker screen, separate fine particles, to separate large solids(rocks) before entering into the real shaker.
Can not at present. We have tandem shale shaker which is combination of 2 sets of shale shaker, they are mounted in one skid, so it is convenient for transportation. Only a few clients need such top& bottom type 2 deck shaker, it is not popular trend in the market, so we did not have existing design. Commonly, even it is very large solids, you can still use GN shale shaker directly without any scalper.

NOV Brandt’s Solids Control is one of the most important phases of the drilling process. The primary reason for using mechanical solids control equipment is to remove detrimental drilled solids from the mud system. Mechanical separation of drilled solids is achieved via screen separation and/or accelerated g-force.
Effective solids control permits viscosity and density to be kept within desired levels, which increases the life of pump parts and drill bits and promotes faster penetration rates-all of which decrease the time and expense of drilling.
