GN produce desander and desilter unit, also horizontal centrifugal pump for feeding them. Sometimes we assembly them together with a small tank, which is called desander/desilter unit or mud cleaning unit. All slurry pump, sand pumps are called centrifugal pump.
The fact of the matter is that there are three types of problems mostly encountered
with centrifugal pumps:
design errors
poor operation
poor maintenance practices
To avoid such problem, you should first understand how it works and the operation and maintenance principle.
How it works
A centrifugal pump is a rotodynamic pump that uses a rotating impeller to increase the pressure of a fluid. Centrifugal pumps are commonly used to move liquids through a piping system. The fluid enters the pump impeller along or near to the rotating axis and is accelerated by the impeller, flowing radially outward into a diffuser or volute chamber (casing), from where it exits into the downstream piping system. Centrifugal pumps are used for large discharge through smaller heads.
