Through slurry pump, the mud moves from the pit to the shaker and drops on the bottom layer screen. The 1st-stage separation will screen out the big solid particles and the liquid drop into the mud tank.

 

The centrifugal pump will pump the mud from the tank and goes into the desander, the desander will make the 2nd-stage separation. The discharged solid particles from the desander will drop on the upper layer screen to be further dryed and finally be discharged; the cleaned mud will be recycled and put into use.

Mud cleaning system is two main parts, the storage mud tank on below and many machines serve as purify the drilling fluid, which get rid of the solid debris in drilling fluid. The mud tanks which store drilling fluid are divided into circulation tanks and store tanks. Circulation tanks as a part of the filter cycle, there are shale shaker, vacuum degasser, deserter, and desander and decanter centrifuge on the top of tank.

The allocation drilling fluid enter into the bottom of the drilling well under the foundation of the drilling pump and carry drilling debris return the ground, through the elevated tubes enter into the shale shaker, the larger solid debris in drilling fluid are filtered through screen

The2nd level of purification
When drilling fluid have debris contain gas, The use of vacuum degasser remove the gas which in the drilling fluid and can recover the density of drilling fluid, calm the drilling fluid viscosity.

The 3rd level of purification
the drilling fluid is disposed by two levels, mud purification enters into the desander.  Through the desander feed into the liquid pump, the harmful sold phase which the diameter is above 40-60um is separated in desander.

The 4th level of purification
the drilling fluid is disposed by the three level purification enter into the desilter through the desilter feed into the liquid pump, the harmful sold phase which the diameter is above 15-40um is separated in desilter.

The 5th level of purification
The drilling is disposed by the four level purification enter into the decanter centrifuge through the centrifugal feed liquid pump, the small harmful sold phase particles are separated in decanter centrifugal.

Usually, all five purification is all working at the same time. If it works one equipment or several equipments, the parameters of the drilling fluid can all meet the work requirements; it can work in one equipment or in several equipments. After the purification, drilling fluid can re-use in the drilling cycle

Entering the 2016, the oil price is constantly at a low point and all the world economy is suffering.

Facing the bad surrounding environment, GN Solids Control has been brave to face the challenge and trying its best to expand the business.

At the end of last month, GN Solids Control took a new order from 1 of the customers in Middle East – 1 set of Mud Recycling system which will be mainly used for treating the drilling mud in Oil Drilling Industry.

 

This Mud Recycling System mainly includes:

1.2 sets of Shale shaker;

2.1 set of Mud Cleaner;

3.Several Mud Pumps;

4.2 Mud tanks;

 

 

 

The main features are:

  1. Skid-mounted, very convenient for transportation and moving;
  2. Compact structure, all the main equipments like the Shale Shaker/Mud Cleaner/Mud Pumps and the Mud Tanksa are all fit on the skid;
  3. The walkway, ladder, guardrails are folding or removable, ensuring the safety and be convenient for transportation;

After almost 1 month’s manufacturing, now the whole set of Mud Recycling System is already finished and passes through the different test.

Although the major share of GN products are used for oil and gas industry, GN Solids Control also occupies the first place in market share in HDD, CBM ,TBM and Loop Zero Discharge System. And among all GN HDD mud recycling systems, the 500 GPM capacity is the most popular among the users.
Picture below is one set of GNMS 500GL HDD System for a jobsite inside China, this is the 3rd project this system is used to serve and GN Solids Control sent engineer to jobsite help to re-set up of the system.


GNMS series mud recycling system is high standard configuration of GN mud recycling systems, they are perfect solution for HDD projects because:
1. GNZS703E-DZ shale shaker is a mature design of GN Solids Control, it use 3 pcs of shaker screens and the screen area is 2.63 cbm. Same as all the GN Shale Shakers, GNZS703E-DZ shale shaker uses the patented technology for the deck sealing in order to prevent leaking of liquid. Shaker deck frame is Stainless steel to have stronger structure for a longer service life. Unless its peer model GNZS703E-HB which is designed for oil and gas solids control system, this model of shale shaker is suitable for get fed via a submersible slurry pump from a mud pit. It is designed especially for the HDD projects.
2. GNZS-703E 1S8N mud cleaner is a combination of the 2nd and 3rd separation steps with desander cone and desilter cones, and the shaker below is used as a under shaker for both desander and desilter cones. GN choose polyurethane cyclones as the desander and desilter cones, more wear proof and longer service life than the metal material ones.
3. As high configuration of GN mud recycling systems, GNMS 500 GL has mixing hopper and mixing pumps for adding new chemicals into the well cleaned drilling mud after recycled. And this 500 GPM system has a larger storage capacity comparing with the standard GNMS 500G system.

1. To make sure the operation of the shale shaker and normal usage life on screen, the operator need to make sure parts like wedges, screw cap bolt and springs on the shale shaker are installed correctly with no signs of wrongdoing. The operator installs the screens according the operation manual provide it from the seller.
2. To get full usage of the pre-tension shale shaker screen, operator need to ensure the rubber parts of the shale shaker is fully intact and show no sign of damage. Shale shaker screen is wear and tear parts and it will be needed for replacement after normal usage. If wear-down speed is faster than normal, then check all the moving parts of shale shaker is functioning properly and secure the screens correctly.

3. Lubrication and consist maintenance the shale shaker moving parts base on the operation manual is the must to ensure proper operation.
4. If the operator uses an OEM shale shaker screen that have not been pre-tension treatment, it is the must step that need to perform before usage.
5. If the drilling fluid flow out of the pore or damaged place, then cuttings can’t be removed. Any screen with holes or be damaged must be changed immediately, the hole and the damaged place can be sealed up by the panel. The screen must be changed as soon as possible, make a plan before the replacement to reduce the stopping drilling time, you should prepare the tools and screen before beginning to replace, if because the shale shaker is not operating, it will increase the cuttings content. It’s best to exchange the screen in a single period if possible. Need to stop the pump at the emergent time, stop drilling so as to replace the screen of shale shaker.

Every year, GN Solids Control provides many sets of solids control equipments or waste management systems for customers. All of these equipments are thoroughly discussed with customers before put into manufacturing. GN experienced workers are sparing no effort to manufacture excellent equipments with first class quality, which is also guaranteed by GN QC engineers. These whole equipments are assembled and tested before sent to customer’s worksite to make sure everything going well and save customers time, so when they’re arrived, these equipments can be put into use in a short period. Sometimes, there’re some equipments that will not be disassembled when transporting. For those customers need technical help from GN, GN can sent our experienced engineers to their worksite. Recently, GN Solids Control Co. has provided one whole set of mud system which is not the common layout. Since the room is limited, to put two shale shakers side by side is not possible. So after careful consideration, GN recommends to put the mud cleaner between two sets of shale shakers. As we all know, mud cleaner can separate much finer solids than shale shaker, so even we arranged to put the mud cleaner in the middle, we try to rearrange the two shale shakers pipelines. Pipelines from the separated shale shakers are connected to the mud cleaner directly, and the inlet pipelines to shale shakers are also separated. In order to keep the safety and protect the shale shaker, all the shaker deck are fixed with bolts before transportation. So when the shake arrives at customers’ worksite, these fixed bolts need to be disassembled first. GN also pays to some other details to keep all the equipments to use for a long life, such as use rubber coat to protect the shaker spring, use rubber slips to protect the shaker screens. Vaccum degasser working principle

The degasser and associated components are designed exclusively for releasing gases from slurries. GNZCQ series vacuum degasser is an new equipment used for processing gas dip drilling fluid developed by our company in reference to various domestic and foreign vacuum degasser. Suitable for supporting various types of mud purification system, and plays an important role in restoring the proportion of the mud, stabilizing slurry viscosity performance and reducing drilling costs.

ZCQ series Degasser belongs to the vacuum degasser, namely the use of the suction effect of the vacuum pump to create the negative pressure region in the vacuum tank, and the mud enter the hollow shaft of the rotor through the suction tube under the action of the atmospheric pressure. And then the mud spray to the tank wall through surrounded windows of the hollow shaft. As collision and the function of separate wheel, the mud separated into thin layers, bubble immersed in the slurry breakup and gas escape. Gas is discharged to safe zone from gas separator through the suction of vacuum pump and separation of gas-water separator. the mud is discharged outside of the tank by impeller. As the main motor starts first, the impeller associated with the motor is in a high-speed rotation state, so mud gets into the tank only from the suction pipe not be sucked from the liquid discharge tube.

Strcture features of GNZCQ Vaccum degasser

Vacuum pump has too different functions. One is using the suction of pump to make the mud enter the vacuum tank. The other is discharging gas out of tank.

Water ring vacuum pump stay at a low temperature at the whole process of working, is suitable for flammable and explosive gas pumping, safe and reliable performance.

Mud through the window of the rotor shoots at walls with high-speed. Bubbles in the mud break very thorough. Degassing effect is very good.

Main motor is side position, whole device with lower center of gravity.

Adopt belted drive to avoid complexity of deduction structure.

Water-gas separater won’t discharge gas and water at the same time to make the degasser tube smooth. In addition, you can cycle the water supply to the vacuum pump, saving water.

Desander is the second phase of oilfield solids control system installed on top of the mud tank following the shale shaker.Desander is mainly composed of 10” hydrocyclone, manifold assembly, 0-1.0mpa diaphragm pressure gauge, sand-flowing slot or bottom shaker. Optimal performance of hydrocyclones requires a proper balance of feed head, feed rate (GPM), and apex opening. Improper balance of any of these variables can adversely affect performance.

In normal operation, feed slurry is introduced tangentially into the interior of the hydrocyclone at high velocity causing a whirlpool effect to occur inside the cone. The swirling motion of the slurry drives the larger, denser particles outward against the cone wall while the smaller, lighter particles move toward the center of the cone.
